SHEYLA & GUSTAVO

Sheyla and Gustavo are one of these couples who have been living together for many  years. They even  have  a lovely family with their little kids, but are so much in love and enthusiastic about their relationaship as the very first day. Sheyla was the most visible face in the organization of their wedding, while Gustavo tried to coordinate his working schedule to take part with all the enthusiasm in the decisión-making process and their wedding preparations.

Meeting Sheyla to decide on their wedding arrangements was always like helping your best friend with the organisation of hers. We went together to choose her dress, to arrange all their wedding decoration, to visit the invitation designer, to the hairdresser and make –up appointments…and as we are both mothers… to share our children´s stories in coffee shop terraces where we also talked about the wedding and the life.

I am telling you all this, because organising their wedding became little by little in the anticipation  of very special moments. That day was going to be unique for them, so I did my best to make sure  they will enjoy it. As it was a small wedding, all the guests were close relatives and best friends. So, that morning before beginning with the preparations, they could enjoy the  Rectoral de Cobres swimming pool and a little unplanned picnic with their best friends. Defintely, all the wedding mornings should be this way!!

By noon the clock began to remind us the time for  the wedding was coming. Enjoying the  preparations with your parents and friends is a great priviledge – hairdresser, make-up, ties, laughs, excitement, emotion…everything!!

And without realising, the day began – the civil ceremony with views over the sea and music by Broken Peach, references to Italy –a very special place for them- in the cocktail, the spectacular table linens selected by Sheyla, the corners for the guests to sit comfortably in groups during the appetizers, the playing area for the children… everything was selected  and carefully chosen to make a good impression in the gardens of Rectoral de Cobres.

Once in the wedding hall, the romanticism was everywhere: in the tables decorated with special care and detail, with candle lights and soft colours to create a magic atmosphere. There was a family toast: two bottles of Estrella Galicia, a baby´s bottle and a bottle of water to greet all their guests. And from this moment on, it was only party…

Today, as I am writing this, I smile while remembering this wedding and knowing that in a few days Sheila and I will probably be having a cup of coffee in a terrace.
